Simply Foods powers over 15,000 students in Greater Vancouver through the Fuel Up Program.

We launched this school lunch program in 2019 with our school district partners to achieve an important goal: to ensure that no child is hungry and every child eats healthy.

There are many reasons for families to participate: it takes the stress off of packing lunches every day, choices are affordable and healthy, and it’s a program that gives back! A portion from each meal ordered goes to support a subsidy for a child who otherwise might not have a lunch to eat.

Our budget-friendly and healthy daily lunch options meet the BC School Nutrition Guidelines. As well, Simply Foods’ Fuel Up servers are Flippa Compliant and our menus are Fraser Health Approved.

PACs, Public, and Private Schools

Fuel Up has been especially valuable for schools that leverage the subsidy program – a program for parents who could use a little extra help providing full quality meals for their kids every day of the week. Being parents of young children ourselves, we understand how hard it can be. This subsidy program makes it easy for school districts to provide that extra support. From the Fuel Up website, students, parents, and administrators can plan ahead by ordering meals from days to a month in advance.

Fuel Up has become an integral part of school fundraising initiatives. When meals are ordered for PAC events, a portion of the profits go back into school programs and events. Families not on the subsidy program who order lunches at full price contribute to a school fund reserved for acquiring student necessities such as warm jackets, school supplies, and food for more students who need assistance.

Adopting Fuel Up only requires a few basic steps:

  2. Katie will work with you to make the Fuel Up Program easily accessible for your constituents.
  3. The Simply Team will then propose a comprehensive menu and simple ordering process that will help achieve your goals.
